Hippy Gypsy Creative Brief

Hippy Gypsy is a 1960’s themed storefront located in Historic Downtown Tempe, Arizona. This store is dedicated to clothing, smoking products and gifts for any occasion. The logo is already tie-dye themed with some flowers intertwined into the store sign as well. I would like to keep this concept, except for this first part with no color in the logo redesign. This tie-dye will be added in in a future design. I love the concept of the flowers because it flows with both words in the store’s name. I would love to incorporate a peace sign as well as some inviting nature-ish scenery. This store has always been one of my favorites to visit whenever I go home to Arizona. In 2016 I wrote a business plan for one of my entrepreneur classes on owning and operating a Hippie Gypsy store. I love logo designs and I look forward to creating something artistic and fresh for Hippie Gypsy.

Final Design:
Typography : Script / Cursive Lowercase letters are about half the X-height as the first two letters in the Logo to stand out for other marketing techniques such as business cards, labels, etc. Kerning flows between the letters as to give a majestic, “hippy” flow. Aphrosine Bold was the font of choice.

Color: Dark green faded into a black as main logo color. A yellow sun and dark blue moon are placed where the ‘i’s are in Hippie. Yellow, Green and Blue make up a tri-color color scheme. This combination is also known as tertiary or intermediate colors, due to their compound nature.
